The School of International Affairs; with the support of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the College of Engineering, the Office of Hispanic Initiatives, and the Center for Quality Growth and Development; has invited a distinguished alumnus from Peru, Raul Delgado Sayan, to visit Georgia Tech to speak on the Development of Mass Transit in the city of Lima, Peru. Dr. Ing. Delgado Sayan was instrumental in developing the plans for a mass transit system currently under construction and partially in operation in Lima.

The Senate Budget & Evaluation Office (SBEO) is looking to hire a Program Analyst to staff one or more Senate Appropriations subcommittees. At this time we are looking specifically for candidates to staff the Public Safety Subcommittee and the General Government Subcommittee.

Georgia PIRG is a state-wide consumer advocacy group that stands up to private interests when they threaten the public’s health, safety, and financial and democratic security.  This fall our lead campaign is “Stop Subsidizing Obesity,” as we urge Congress to cut taxpayer subsidies to junk food ingredients.  Since 1995, $18.2 billion has gone to just four of these, including high fructose corn syrup and soybean oil.  In the next month, Georgia PIRG interns will play a key role in working to end these wasteful subsidies through grassroots mobilization, coalition building, …
