From the desk of Diana Hicks (Chair of the School of Public Policy):

Last week I attended the final client presentations of our undergraduate capstone class – PUBP 4010/4020 Public Policy Task Force.  The presentations were wonderful – very professional, very nice analyses that the clients found helpful.
So congratulations are first due to the three teams:

Team – Betsy  Kim, Haley Gillet, Jessica Sinclair, Kristine Priebe, Mike Starosto
Client – MS Society of GA
Project title – What Methods were used to regulate specialty tiers? What method is most feasible in Georgia?

Team – Zack Smith, Mike Tallini, Abbie King, Mike Donohue
Client – Living Room Atlanta
Project title – How do the demographic of the population of people living with HIV/AIDS affect the demand of HIV/AIDS housing services?

Team – Austen Edwards, John Manson, Ryan Forman, Shawn Skolky
Client – Tech Connect Initiative
Project title – What policies/program may enhance interfirm linkages between tech teens and the local business ecosystem of Atlanta?

The School also owes a debt of gratitude  and congratulations to  Shiri Breznitz and Kim Isett for developing the course to this point and guiding the students to such a successful outcome.

A special thank you also goes out to the faculty members who came to the practice presentations a few weeks ago and provided the feedback that helped produce vastly improved final presentations: Richard Barke, Susan Cozzens, Dan Matisoff, Aaron Levine and Paul Baer.

Finally, this success also testifies to the hard work we have all done in recent years in redesigning the BSPP degree and then carefully thinking through the program assessment for the degree (OATS) and circling back to ask how we are doing in relation to the goals we set ourselves.
