Aaron Levine has won an NSF Career grant entitled: "Ethically Contentious Science and the Graduate School Experience."  The focus of the project is developing an understanding of how studying an ethically contentious field in graduate school affects students' learning, their development as scientists, and their transition to the scientific workforce.  NSF Career awards aim to integrate research and teaching.  Key research activities supported by the award include a
series of qualitative interviews with early career scientists in ethically contentious fields and a panel survey of graduate students in both ethically contentious and less contentious fields.  Key educational activities include the development of a new course and a seminar series/journal club on science, technology and education policy.
