Graduate Certificate Programs in International Research and Innovation Policy

The School offers Graduate Certificate Programs in International Research and Innovation Policy. Currently, these are available only for students enrolled in Georgia Tech degree programs and for exchange students from designated international university partners. These Graduate Certificate Programs are taken as part of existing degree requirements and involve a semester of international study. Approved programs which are eligible for the Certificate are:

Delft University of Technology - Georgia Tech - Policy Exchange Program

One semester exchange in technology policy and management. For graduate students at Georgia Tech enrolled in public policy and other courses, this program provides opportunities for studies in engineering and policy analysis, management of technology, and systems engineering and policy analysis. For Delft students in Technology, Policy and Management, this program provides opportunities to study for one semester in the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy. Exchanges are subject to a balance arrangement. | For more details select here

PRIME Masters Program in Research and Innovation Policy
Opportunities to undertake science, technology and innovation research and policy studies in Europe. Presently, our partners in this program include Aalborg University (Denmark), Polytechnicum de Marne la Vallée (Paris, France), Roskilde University Center (Denmark), University of Lisbon (Inst. Superior de Economica e Gestao, Portugal), and the University of Twente (Netherlands), in conjunction with the PRIME Network of Excellence in Research and Innovation and the European Inter-University Association on Society, Science, and Technology (ESST). Study opportunities under PRIME are also available at other European universities, including in the UK, Spain, and Eastern Europe. This Program requires prior course preparation at Georgia Tech (based on our existing course offerings) plus an exchange to research and study abroad for one semester at one of the European partner universities. Each partner university offers a range of research specialties. This program provides qualified students at partner European universities the opportunity to study for one semester in the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy. Exchanges are subject to a balance arrangement. | For more details select here

The Delft and PRIME Programs are available to qualified MS, PhD, and Joint PhD students in Public Policy (and other units at Georgia Tech). BS/MS students who will complete BS requirements by the exchange semester are also eligible to apply. Masters (MSPP) students will finish their professional research paper or thesis during their study period in Europe.

Students who successfully complete one of the School’s international exchange programs may apply for the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy Graduate Certificate in International Research and Innovation Policy or the PRIME Graduate Certificate in Research and Innovation Policy, as appropriate.

New and current students may wish to consider these programs as they develop their study plans, so as to participate in a later semester.

PhD circulation to partner European universities in PRIME

As part of the School's association with the European PRIME Network of Excellence, opportunities are available for PhD students in the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy to undertake research study visits to partner European Universities. For more information, please contact Prof. Susan Cozzens.

Individual Graduate Study Abroad, Training and Presentation Opportunities

In recent years, Georgia Tech graduate students in public policy (MS and PhD programs) have participated in a variety of individual or customized international study abroad, training, or presentation opportunities. These have ranged from short visits to present papers at international conferences to one-year research training assignments overseas. Georgia Tech graduate public policy students interested in pursuing international opportunities should discuss this with their faculty advisors.

Visiting Researchers. For highly qualified applicants, the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy does accept international graduate students and post-doctoral fellows as visiting researchers (not enrolled in degree programs) for short periods of time. Recent visitors have included Fulbright Fellows. Generally, the School is unable to provide financial support to visiting researchers, and visitors are accepted only if there is a close fit with faculty research and on a space available basis. Those interested should make contact through a member of the School's academic faculty.
