    Professor Marilyn Brown has been named an inaugural ambassador in DoE/MIT Women in Clean Energy Program for the United States. The class heard from senate research and press staffers and from three state senators, one of whom is a Tech alum - Senator Johnny Grant of Milledgeville.     Michael Elliott, Associate Professor, Schools of City and Regional Planning & Public Policy, has been appointed to the National Research Council’s Committee on Inherently Safer Chemical Processes. The committee is examining approaches used by chemical manufacturing facilities for the management of chemical process risks, especially in the use of particularly hazardous chemicals, and in the potential for replacing risky processes with inherently safer ones.

    Aaron Levine, Assistant Professor in the School of Public Policy, has been appointed to an Institute of Medicine Committee that is tasked with evaluating the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM).Specifically, the committee will assess CIRM's programs, operations, strategies, and performance since its inception in 2005. The committee held its first meeting in October 2011 and will hold four additional meetings in 2012 before producing a final report near the end of the year.... read more
